Make Your Own Natural After-Sun Spray
Make Your Own Natural After-Sun Spray
We all know to cover up and to protect ourselves from the sun, but it's great to get a bit of sun on the skin. And when you've spent just a bit too much time roasting yourself and you have that persisting warm glow, you want to be prepared with a gentle, natural, effective spray which will cool and heal your skin.
Here's a recipe to make your own natural, healing and refreshing after-sun spray.
What you'll need
- An empty spray bottle - preferably coloured glass (to protect the qualities of the essential oils)
- 1 cup pure aloe juice or 1 tbsp of aloe gel and 1 cup of water (soothing and cooling and healing)
- 1/4 cup Fractionated Coconut oil (to encourage distribution and absorption)
- 1/2 teaspoon of vitamin E oil (skin repair)
- 10 drops doTERRA Lavendar essential oil (calming)
- 6 drops doTERRA Melaleuca essential oil (healing and cleansing)
For extra cooling add 6 drops of doTERRA Peppermint Essential Oil
For extra help to repair the skin add 6 drops of doTERRA Frankincense Essential Oil
Mix all the ingredients together in the glass spray bottle. Shake well to use.
Do not spray near the eyes. To apply to the face, first spray into hand and rub on face, keeping it away from the eyes. If you get this in your eyes it may sting for 10 minutes or so but should slowly ease. Best to get medical advice if this happens.
Why doTERRA?
When using essential oils for beneficial topical application - directly onto your skin - it is important to ensure that you are using high quality Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade products. That is why I only advise the use of doTERRA essential oils.
These products are sustainably sourced and are made to the highest quality for therapeutic use.
